According to NY Daily News, one the homeowner's three felines was reported missing last month, although it has not been confirmed who the cat the python was eating belonged to. "Speaking with the neighbors, apparently there's a couple of rabbits and a cat missing from the neighborhood recently, so the snake may be to blame for that, " Wood told the news station.

On May 11, Leon was driving in a rural area of southwest Miami-Dade when he and his passengers saw a large snake in the road. The man pulled over to get a closer look of the reptile, who was only sticking out three feet from a bush.

Leon began to pull the animal out of its hiding place, when the Burmese python began to wrap itself around his leg. His friends stepped out to his rescue, using a knife to kill the snake. They discover it was and 18-foot, 8-inch female python, according to the news site.
